KEY FEATURES
The project involved the transformation of a 13,000-square-foot pre-engineered steel building on a 3.4-acre site. Interior upgrades included the demolition and remodel of existing office and warehouse spaces, a break room, a supervisor’s office, a prayer room, and a mother’s room. Comprehensive modifications were made to the building’s mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building management systems to align with Amazon’s operational needs. The facility also features external speedlifts with canopies to facilitate multiple dock-height package receiving bays and a floor-height delivery vehicle loading bay on the opposite side of the building. These modifications ensure the seamless flow of goods and vehicles critical to Amazon’s delivery operations.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS
Extensive site work addressed the unique challenges posed by the existing soil conditions. The site underwent complete demolition of prior pavements and utilities. Challenging soil conditions were mitigated through a modified subgrade pavement design, incorporating geogrid reinforcement and additional aggregate base layers. Exterior concrete door locations were equipped with full-depth concrete footings and frost-protected stoops using void forms, while overhead door areas utilized polystyrene board insulation to counteract seasonal freeze-thaw effects. A storm sewer system manages runoff from parking areas and roof downspouts, routing water to an on-site detention basin. The project also includes a new pressurized septic system for wastewater treatment and water service is provided through Southwest Rural Water.
